PPP Launches Asset Recovery Committee to Reclaim Historical Party Assets

The People’s Progressive Party (PPP) has officially launched its Asset Recovery Committee, marking a critical step in preserving the party’s legacy and reclaiming property that has been wrongfully removed from its possession. The committee held its inaugural meeting on June 19, 2025, at the law offices of Malick H.B. Jallow, Esq. in Banjul.
Chaired by prominent legal practitioner Malick H.B. Jallow, the meeting focused on creating a strategic and legal roadmap for asset recovery. The plan involves a phased approach that includes investigation, legal verification, and formal engagement with unlawful possessors of PPP properties.
Key Phases of the Asset Recovery Plan
1. Investigation & Identification of PPP Assets (June 20 – July 10, 2025)
Led by Alhagie Waka Jobe, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, this phase aims to identify all assets that historically belonged to the party but are currently outside its control. The committee will work to compile evidence and gather facts essential to initiating recovery.
2. Legal Verification of Titles (July 10 – July 24, 2025)
Under the leadership of Senior Counsel Malick H.B. Jallow, this stage involves validating the legal documentation and ownership status of each asset. Confirming title authenticity will lay the legal foundation for reclaiming the assets.
3. Formal Engagement & Recovery (July 24 – August 23, 2025)
This phase includes reaching out to individuals or institutions currently in possession of party property. The committee will prioritize Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) methods to settle disputes amicably. Where ADR fails, the committee is prepared to pursue legal action through the courts to reclaim the assets.
A Call to Elders and Supporters
The committee emphasizes the importance of collaboration from the public and party elders, whose insights and historical knowledge are vital to the success of this mission. The assets in question represent decades of party history and the collective contributions of former PPP members.
“The People’s Progressive Party is not just reclaiming property—it’s reclaiming legacy, integrity, and the hard-earned contributions of generations past,” said a committee spokesperson.
The PPP encourages anyone with relevant information or documentation to contact the committee and support this effort to restore what rightfully belongs to the party.
