CENTRAL RIVER REGION NORTH & SOUTH REGIONAL CONGRESSES
The People’s Progressive Party (PPP) is pleased to announce that the Central River Region North (CRR North) and Central River Region South (CRR South) have successfully conducted their Regional Congresses and duly elected their respective Executive Committee members.
The National Secretariat (NA) hereby informs all party members, supporters, and the general public that the Central River North and South Regional Congresses were held in full compliance with Article 25 of the PPP Constitution.
Under the visionary leadership of the Secretary-General and Party Leader, Ousman Madikay Faal, who has placed reorganization and restructuring at the core of the Party’s strategic agenda, the PPP continues its nationwide mission to strengthen its grassroots structures, deepen community engagement, and promote effective political participation across the country.
The two Congresses, held on Saturday, 14 December 2025 in Janjangbureh, brought together committed and dedicated party members from across Central River Region North and South. Participants reaffirmed their collective resolve to revitalize, reposition, and strengthen the People’s Progressive Party.
At the conclusion of the Congresses, the following individuals were duly elected to serve on the Regional Executive Committees for a term of three (3) years:

Speaking after the successful Congresses, the Secretary-General and Party Leader, Ousman Madikay Faal, stated: “It is a great day for the People’s Progressive Party. Congratulations to Central River Region North and South for successfully conducting their Congresses. I commend all the elected leaders and party members for their dedication and discipline. This marks another important step in our nationwide reorganization and restructuring process. Together, we will build a stronger, united, and people-centered PPP for the good of The Gambia.”
The PPP Secretariat extends its sincere appreciation to all party members and supporters whose active participation and steadfast commitment contributed to the success of the Central River Region Congresses.
This nationwide reorganization exercise is ongoing. The next Regional Congresses will be held in the North Bank Region, Lower River Region, Kanifing Municipal Council, and Banjul. The Secretariat will duly inform party members once the dates are finalized.
Together, we are rebuilding a stronger, more connected, and more vibrant People’s Progressive Party.
