Furtherance of the Party’s commitment to internal democracy, transparency, and adherence to due process, and in line with our motto, “The Voice of the People is the Voice of God,” the Central Committee hereby formally informs all Party members that application and Nomination forms are now available for interested members seeking nomination as the Party’s Presidential Candidate. Accordingly, the following process shall be followed:
NOMINATION & APPLICATION PROCESS
Eligibility:
- Only members of the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) in good standing, holding a valid membership card, are eligible to submit an application.
- Issuance of Nomination Forms:
- Nomination forms shall only be issued upon presentation of a valid membership card.
- The nomination process is open and free of charge to all eligible members in accordance with the party’s commitment to fairness and equal opportunity
- Interested members can collect nomination forms from the National Administrative Secretary, Tel: +220 284 5424
- Nomination Requirements:
- Each interested candidate shall be nominated by at least ten (10) registered members with a valid membership card of the Party in each region. The membership information of each nominator, including membership card number and other relevant details, shall be provided on the official nomination form for verification.
- No member shall be permitted to nominate more than one person
- Submission Deadline:
- Interested members shall submit their completed application and nomination forms from 2nd February to 7th February 2026. The latest time for submission on the deadline date shall be 12:00 midnight (00:00 hours).
- Verification and Review:
- Submitted application and nomination forms will be reviewed and verified by the Central Committee to ensure compliance with all requirements.
- The Central Committee reserves the right to reject any application that does not meet the stipulated criteria.
Further information on the next stage of the selection process, including the convening of an Extraordinary Congress as per Article 37 and Article 41 of the PPP constitution for the election of the Party’s Presidential Candidate, shall be communicated officially by the Party in due course.
