People’s Progressive Party (PPP) Participation in the Jamali Babou Football Tournament
Party Representation
The People’s Progressive Party (PPP) was honored to be represented at this important community initiative. A party delegation, led by Sir Farimang Singhateh, National Youth Mobilizer, together with a representative of the PPP Regional Executive Committee, attended the Final Match of the Jamali Babou Football Tournament on behalf of the party.
We attended in honor of the invitation from the Jamali Babou Football Newetaan Committee. This invitation is a clear testimony that the PPP Youth Wing is effectively engaging young people, and that the best way to reach youths is by being part of their activities.
Why the PPP Values Sports and Community Events
The PPP believes that football and similar community activities are powerful tools for unity, discipline, and national development. Sports bring together people of different backgrounds, promote teamwork, and create a sense of purpose among young people. Our Secretary-General and Party Leader, Hon. Ousman Madikay Faal, has consistently placed youth and women’s affairs at the very top of his agenda. He firmly believes that empowering these two groups is essential for strengthening democracy, building inclusive institutions, and preparing the nation for sustainable development. Under his leadership, the PPP is prioritizing policies and initiatives that give young people and women greater participation, recognition, and opportunities in shaping The Gambia’s future.

Youth are the majority of The Gambia’s population, and their energy, ideas, and aspirations will shape the country’s future. To further show its support, the PPP donated two footballs and a cash contribution to assist the Jamali Babou Football Tournament Committee in sustaining this worthy initiative.
