FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PPP Announces the Expulsion of Former Party Leader Kebba Jallow

7 August 2026

The People’s Progressive Party (PPP) wishes to inform its members, supporters, stakeholders, the media, and the general public that the National Central Committee (NCC), at its meeting held on 7 August 2026, resolved to expel Mr. Kebba Jallow, former Party Leader, from the membership of the People’s Progressive Party with immediate effect.

The decision followed the National Central Committee’s careful consideration of Mr. Jallow’s recent conduct, public statements, and actions, which the Committee determined to be in violation of Article 32 of the Constitution of the People’s Progressive Party.

Following its deliberations, the National Central Committee determined that the conduct in question constituted serious misconduct, including actions that:

* Created division and discord within the Party;
* Undermined the unity, effectiveness, and organizational integrity of the Party;
* Brought the Party into disrepute;
* Impeded or interfered with the proper functioning of the Party’s constitutional structures; and
* Were inconsistent with, or contrary to, the aims, policies, principles, and objectives of the People’s Progressive Party.

The PPP emphasizes that no individual, regardless of position, status, or previous office held within the Party, is above the Constitution. The Party Constitution applies equally to all members, and the PPP remains firmly committed to the principles of discipline, accountability, constitutional order, internal democracy, and collective responsibility.

Accordingly, the National Central Committee exercised its constitutional authority under Article 32.5(2) and resolved to impose the sanction of expulsion with immediate effect.

EFFECT OF THE DECISION

As a result of the National Central Committee’s decision:

1. Mr. Kebba Jallow is no longer a member of the People’s Progressive Party.
2. He is not authorized to represent, speak for, communicate on behalf of, or otherwise act in the name of the People’s Progressive Party in any capacity.

RIGHT OF APPEAL

In accordance with the Party Constitution, Mr. Jallow has been informed of his right to appeal the decision within thirty (30) days to either the Chairman of the National Executive Committee or the Chairman of the Board of Trustees.

The Party will respect and uphold the applicable constitutional appeal process.
