A Heartfelt Visit to Brikama: Rekindling the Legacy of the PPP

On Friday, I had the heartfelt opportunity to visit Brikama, honoring the legacy of the late Sir Dawda and our founding members, while recognizing the pivotal role this community played in the history of the PPP. It was a deeply moving experience to connect with the elders of Brikama “Bulundala” as we sought to rekindle the strong relationships that the PPP once cherished with Sanneh Kunda, Sillah Kunda, Touray Kunda, and the wider Kabilos of Brikama.
The warm welcome I received from the elders of Brikama “Bulundala” was truly humbling. They generously shared the rich history that binds our party to this community, reminding me not only of our shared past but also of the importance of nurturing those bonds for future generations. I asked for their prayers and collaboration, emphasizing the essential legacy left by the elders who came before us—one that we must protect and honor together.
I want to convey my heartfelt commitment to ensuring that the PPP returns to its roots in Brikama and beyond. As I listened to the uplifting words of speakers throughout the event, it became clear how much hope there is for renewing our connection. The gathering resonated with shared aspirations, ending with prayers and a firm promise of collaboration as we take steps toward revitalizing the PPP.
I extend my deepest gratitude to my National Youth President, Mr. Sir Dawda HE Jarju, for his pivotal role in bringing us together for this meaningful occasion.
I was accompanied by the Spokesperson Waka Jagne and Alhagie Waka Jobe, Members of the Board of Trustees of the PPP.
As I move forward in my commitment to reorganizing the PPP, I fully recognize the importance of going back to our origins. I kindly urge the people of The Gambia to consider the PPP once more, with the assurance that under my leadership, our party will remain independent and grounded in the values upon which it was built. Together, let’s work to ensure a brighter future for all.
